Primary Duties

The Assessor's primary duty is determining the value of all taxable real and personal property within the county for the purpose of equitable distribution of the tax liabilities of property owners within the various districts.

State law requires the assessor to appraise the value of real property annually. Any taxpayer who disagrees with the value determined by the assessor has the right to appeal to the County Board of Equalization.
