Preservation of Records
Over the years, the method used for recording documents has evolved from a system of manual transcription in ledger books, to digitally scanning and indexing documents. Documents recorded prior to 1986 are available at Washington State Archives. We do not currently offer online access to our records, but we do have a computer open for use by the public that allows for searches to be completed by the public.
Types of Records
The Auditor's Office records and provides access to over 150 types of documents. We do not interpret documents nor do we check documents for accuracy. We only verify compliance with the laws concerning formatting. We answer basic questions about how to find documents and do our best to assist with searching our records.
